The high beam control (HBC) system includes a reflector, a light source containing two or more light emitting bodies, and forward-sensing camera (FSC). The camera detects various forms of lights such as headlights, taillights, and ambient light from the surrounding area and turn light focus brighter or dimmer automatically, making it easier for the driver to recognize hazards. The HBS detects oncoming and preceding vehicles and provides a broader field of vision to the driver to see further into the distance and recognize hazards earlier to avoid accidents. The HBS does not operate properly under certain conditions like driving on curves such as corners or mountain roads, streetlamps, reflective signs, roadside markers, and bad weather.

The global automotive high beam control market is expected to cross USD 12 billion by 2025 at a projected CAGR of ~6% over the forecast period. The major key driving factors for the growth of this market are the growing demand for cars with automatic headlights, increasing number of road accidents, concern over passenger and driver’s safety, increasing sale of luxury cars, stringent regulations regarding driving and lighting of a vehicle, and rising trend of long driving especially during night. Lack of skilled operator, high cost of LED lights, and low compact of advanced lighting system in entry level SUV’s are some of the factors that are hindering the market growth. However, the rise in demand for automatic high beam controller for vehicles, growing per capita disposable income in countries such as China and India, growing demand for eco-friendly vehicles, increasing preference for luxury vehicles with premium features, and developing economies from emerging countries, such as India, Brazil, and Argentina, are providing growth opportunity. Additionally, the technology advancements in automotive HBS systems such as the concept of smart HBS, adaptive LED headlights, and deployment of artificial intelligence method with image processing algorithm in multipurpose camera for comprehensive scene interpretation and reliable object detection are also provide growth opportunity.
The global automatic high beam control market is segmented on the basis of vehicle type, propulsion, sales channel, and region. By vehicle type, the market is segmented into passenger car and commercial vehicle. By propulsion, the global market has been segmented into internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle. By sales channel, the global market has been segmented into OEM and aftermarket.
